Lower the Boom

Why let your day at the range or in the field permanently damage your hearing? It’s time you lower the boom and save not only your hearing but the hearing of others around you. We have enough loud noises in our everyday lives that are potentially damaging to our hearing. The damage done from even single-exposures to gunfire without ear-protection can lead to irreversible hearing loss.

A suppressor (silencer) lowers the sound of gunshots by an average of 20-30 dB. The amount of reduction is based on many factors including: firearm model and features, ammunition used, and suppressor design.

You should still wear hearing protection when shooting a suppressed firearm. The chart here explains some common sounds and the average dB level for each.
